Organisers fume over last-minute preparations, emcees fret over logistics, and the players kick up gusts of dusts practising their direct hits. The Indian Cricket League is finally here.

The ICL is scheduled to kick off tomorrow. Most things look promising....good international stars, TV coverage and also last heard that a lot of sponsors have come forward (Microsoft amongst one of them).
I hope they do well. There doing well would mean that there would be additional entertainment other than normal International fixtures. We have to see how well they make each of the matches competitive.
I also think that it would be a good idea for ICL to conduct matches in nuetral venues and the first that comes to my mind is Sharjah. In fact they can make a killing there. India and Pakistan have stopped playing there and the cricket crazy people there would love to see Twenty20 matches. The infrastructures exists, Zee does telecast in the UAE and money is never going to be a problem there.
This will do two things for them...one, it will help them generate good money (sponsors, tickets) and two it will get them going International.
They should do it before BCCI and the IPL does it....
Psst: no one let BCCI know about this post :-)
