First it was Murlidharan nad now it is Sangakkara. This youngster breaks records as if it’s an everyday occurrence. He hit the English bowlers like they were teenagers bowling at high school level. Kumar Sangakkara entertained his country men at Kandy today. But for him England could have won the match. His breathtaking innings is a treat to watch. This guy has an amazing record ever since he left wicket keeping. His batting has become impressive with seven centuries in fourteen innings with six 150’s. His batting average in 22 tests he has played so far is 96.40. Awesome!

At the age of thirty he still has a couple of more years at the game. He is at the peak now. He attributes his success to his first captain Arjuna Ranatunga. He humbly says that Arjuna encouraged him to always have a goal and try to reach it. This is one advice he has heeded to and keeps his mind focused on his game. When asked how he does it he says "It's a lot to do with mental comfort. It's easy to look at this and say I'm batting pretty well, but you never know what the ball will do in the air or off the track. You have to make sure at training you've got your bases covered. When I go into bat I'm as ready as I can be." He is sure to make more centuries and keep breaking his own records. A world class batsman who cannot be taken lightly Kumar Sangakkara is not only an asset but also a jewel in the Srilankan team.
