Gary Kirsten has finally been made the Indian coach after last minute hesitation. He will join the Indian team in Australia for the third and fourth tests. A new coach has been selected almost after a year. We all know that Greg Chappel had resigned from the post last year. "It is a great honor and I'm looking forward to the challenge with as much enthusiasm as any challenge I've ever faced. I'm not naive - I know how big the job is and I know it won't be easy, but it's also something I really want to do, and do well," Kirsten said. Though he will meet up with the team before they leave for Australia he will join them only for the third test in Australia. Gary Kirsten is a former batsman of the South African cricket team.

There were rumors that senior players were not happy with Kirsten’s appointment. But all that was quashed by the board president. He said that senior players have no issues and will co-operate with Kirsten. With a matured captain like Anil Kumble and a coach like Gary Kirsten, India should certainly have no problems in winning the forthcoming Australian and South African series. It’ll be interesting to write about all this and much more in the coming months. We can look forward to some wonderful and memorable matches and performances from the players in the forthcoming series.

yahooo! I am loving it.
